Cauvery Calling Campaign will support farmers to plant 242 Cr trees to revitalize Kaveri/ Cauvery.
It will initiate the revitalization of the Kaveri/ Cauvery river and transform the lives of 84 million people.
This project focuses on the Kaveri river, which flows through the states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and UT Pondicherry. The Kaveri river has been the lifeline of these states for centuries. It does not reach the ocean for more than 6 months of the year and its water is depleted shortly after the end of monsoon, leading farmers to devastation. Even drinking water becomes scarce during this season.
I have pledged to be a part of this initiative to help the people staying in these areas with the basic necessities of life - fresh air and water.
This initiative asks for a small donation of Rs 42 for each plant sapling.
Isha foundation will also provide a certificate for each donation and the donation is 100% tax exempted in India.
I believe that it is us, who have depleted the environment in hundreds of years and it is time to make up for our deeds with such initiatives..
