Isha Vidhya, the rural education initiative of Isha Foundation, is constantly on the look-out – for ways to create awareness, for opportunities to generate funds and for occasions to engage people’s attention for the wonderful work that is being done here. One of the modes of doing this is to enter competitions and challenges, and so, Isha Vidhya is participating in the Dell Social Innovation Challenge (DSIC), 2013.

The Dell Social Innovation Challenge identifies and supports promising young social innovators who dedicate themselves to solving the world’s most pressing problems with their transformative ideas. The Grand Prize Awards are chosen by judges, and five cash prizes totaling $140,000 are offered. The money for the first prize is $60,000, which, if we win, will go towards building of four classrooms. These classrooms will, in turn, benefit 160 children per year.

Semi-finalists will be chosen by 18th Feb 2013. Voting in the semi-final round will commence from 18th Feb and continue till 18th Mar 2013 after which finalists will be declared. The final round will start on 8th April and will continue till 14 May.
