Flying the nest came easy to our recent Class 12 alumni. They were well-prepared to forge ahead due to our various interventions such as Self-Management Spaces, Peer Learning, Get Mentored sessions, Career Day, and more. Furthermore, their teachers constantly encouraged them and helped them identify their potential.

Read about the school toppers from eight of our schools (that teach up to Class 12), who are purposefully pursuing their academic goals in college.

“I am preparing to appear for NEET (The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test). My father is no more, and my mother is the pillar of strength for our family. So, I stud-ied diligently to honor her and to pursue my dream of becoming a doctor. I aspire to become either a dermatologist or a gynecologist and work in a government hospital to serve the poor.”

“I’m currently studying B.Com and want to become a Chartered Accountant. My love for Accountancy, Commerce, and Economics and frequent visits to the bank drove me to pursue this course. I studied on a scholarship that was a boon for me, so my goal was to complete my studies successfully; I didn’t aim to stand first.”

“I am studying computer engineering and have a strong desire to work at Google. I also want to join the Civil Services as it will give me an opportunity to serve the people. I plan to work in the private sector till I clear the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) exam, and then, as an IAS officer, I want do something more purposeful.”

“I am currently studying electrical and electronics engineering at the Govern-ment College of Engineering, Salem. I want to start working as soon as possible to look after my grandma and reciprocate her love and care for me since my childhood. She was so happy with my Class 12 scores, but I didn’t actually set any goals. My friends who are class-toppers inspired me to excel academically.”

“Math and Computer Science are my favourite subjects, so I chose to pursue Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at Sri Venkateswara College of Engineer-ing and Technology, Villupuram. Moreover, these fields are currently experiencing a boom. My father is my inspiration, and his advice has motivated me to excel in all that I do.”

“I am studying Electronics and Communication Engineering as I’m keen to stay up-to-date on the modern world of computers and technology. After graduating, I want to clear the UPSC exams and serve the nation, either by working in ISRO or as a public servant. As a citizen, I am dedicated to contributing to the nation’s improvement.”

“I’ve recently been alloted a seat at the Government College of Engineering, Salem. My parents were thrilled with my Class 12 scores, but I was a bit disappointed as I feel that I could have done better – it would have especially helped me secure a college seat of my choice more easily.”

“I am currently studying B.E. in Computer Science and Business System. My parents are uneducated and motivated me to study well. My father has worked hard to give us quality education. Srushti Jayant Deshmukh, who cleared UPSC (CSE) exams at 23, inspires me and I want to do the same. When I become an IAS officer, I aim to improve the living standards of rural people by implementing various schemes and programs.”
