Isha Vidhya and the Govt. School Adoption Program are participating in the “Spark The Rise” competition, which offers substantial financial aid to projects that win the monthly voting contest. We request you to cast your vote for the two projects (last date for voting is 21st Oct). This will go a great distance in helping us empower the children of rural India.
About Govt. school adoption program:
With experience in setting up and running Isha Vidhya English-medium schools in the rural districts of Tamil Nadu, Isha is all too aware of the challenges faced by government schools. Isha is leveraging their experience, the tools developed and facilities created in Isha Vidhya schools to intervene in Government Schools to enhance the quality of education.
Interventions include inducting additional trained teachers along with remedial classes and extracurricular activities such as yoga, sports, arts and music. Health camps are conducted and hygienic conditions are ensured. Above all, the program strives to induce a spirit of enthusiasm and joy in each child. This will result in several thousands of children benefiting from a meaningful education, transforming their lives.
From 2011-12, till date 31 schools have been adopted in Dharmapuri, Coimbatore and Salem districts which benefit over 28,000 students.
