It’s that time of the year again for Isha meditators, friends of Isha and cause enthusiasts in Bangalore to put on their running shoes and run for a cause – that is Isha Vidhya, Isha’s rural education project!

Isha Vidhya presently runs 7 rural English medium schools across Tamil Nadu, providing high quality education to 3450 underprivileged rural children of whom 2100 are on full scholarship.

On May 27, 2012, over 200 volunteers will run in the Bangalore World 10K Run to raise funds for Isha Vidhya. Anyone interested in participating may join. Please email iv.blr10k@gmail.com with contact details to be guided on the registration process.

Mumbai volunteers cheer on Bangalore for TCS World 10k Run

“After Mumbai it is wonderful to see Bangalore taking up the idea of a Marathon to raise funds for Isha Vidhya through the TCS 10K running. Essentially the marathon in Mumbai has been a highly energising activity. There is a lot of energy in Bangalore now post Sadhguru’s mega program and this is a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness for Isha Vidhya. So enjoy your running and your fund raising as well. “Marathon has been for me an effort to offer myself willingly to a cause of someone somewhere so deserving. I have always helped those whom I knew, whom I see and can relate to. But running for someone whom I have not known or seen required a willingness of a different type. Asking for assistance I found was a graceful work a blessed opportunity. Almost every person is eager to offer a hand.

The best part of this third year marathon run for Isha Vidhya has been that this year I approached people in my organisation to run with me for Isha Vidhya. I felt if some can donate that is good but if some can run with me that is too good. How I touch others is important with expectation or without expectation. Intensity without burden of expectation made me win over hearts. 7 of my colleagues ran and became Isha Patrons!
