500+ Farmers Empowered in Focused Tree Farming Consultations
Over the weekend Cauvery Calling Farmers from across Tamil Nadu districts united to learn smart tree based agriculture techniques and soil-friendly practices in meetings hosted across 10 locations.

Cauvery Calling has been organizing monthly consultation meetings to educate farmers engaged in tree-based farming on modern techniques. On Sunday, July 20, over 500 farmers from Madurai, Ariyalur, Thiruvannamalai, Namakkal, Tenkasi, Thanjavur, Chengalpattu, Dharmapuri, Dindigul, and Erode districts participated in such meetings and benefited from them.
The team members of Cauvery Calling shared valuable techniques with the farmers to make tree-based agriculture more profitable. Topics included selecting trees suitable for the local soil, pre-plantation land preparation, tree planting methods, and sapling care for healthy growth. Special emphasis was placed on water management during summer and monsoon seasons. In addition, the team discussed common diseases and pest attacks affecting trees in each region and shared relevant solutions based on farmers’ inputs.
Farmers expressed that such events help them learn various techniques and requested that similar training sessions be organized every month in all districts. Responding to this feedback, Cauvery Calling has planned to conduct monthly consultation meetings across all districts. Farmers who missed this event can attend the upcoming sessions.
As part of its support, Cauvery Calling provides timber saplings at a subsidized rate of ₹5 from the Isha Nursery. The team also offers free advisory visits to farmers' lands to help choose tree species suitable for the soil.
For saplings and consultations, farmers can contact the Cauvery Calling helpline: 80009 80009.
