There is a steady, encouraging shift toward tree-based agriculture across the country, and Cauvery Calling’s collective efforts on the ground are helping support this transition. Thanks to your unwavering support, the movement welcomed 3604 new farmers and enabled the planting of nearly 1.7 million living trees this quarter, pushing the total since inception to a monumental 136 million trees. This gradual grassroots progress is finding beautiful resonance at the highest levels of the government. In a landmark policy announcement, the Union Agriculture Minister has officially renamed “agro-forestry” as "tree-based farming." This critical change removes the reference to “forests” and thereby eliminates the long-standing fear of farmers nationwide that they may encounter legal hurdles in cultivating and harvesting their own timber.

This quarter, 3,362 more farmers transitioned to tree-based agriculture and plantation of over 2.2 million trees were enabled. From a policy reform expanding farmers' access to high-value timber, to a farmer's ₹15 lakh return on 2.5 acres in 5 years—here's what happened on the ground.

This quarter, Cauvery Calling’s initiatives took deeper root, with over 7,600 farmers newly transitioning to tree-based agriculture, and the planting of 3.7 million living trees enabled. Through large-scale knowledge-sharing among farmers, independently verified on-ground impact, and international engagement, Cauvery Calling continues to strengthen farms, livelihoods, and soil.

This quarter, Cauvery Calling continued to make steady progress. The project enabled over 3.6 million trees to be planted, positively impacting 8,499 farmers. At the heart of Cauvery Calling are these farmers—the true Soil Heroes—who have embraced tree-based agriculture not just as a means of livelihood, but as a mission to restore and enrich the soil.

This quarter, Cauvery Calling enabled the plantation of 2 million trees. Over 1,800 farmers were trained in tree-based agriculture, empowering rural communities to restore soil health and secure their livelihoods. The 160 inspiring women nursery workers, whose years of dedication have enabled millions of saplings and countless transformations, were also celebrated.

With expert-led guidance, thousands of farmers are transitioning to tree-based agriculture and Cauvery Calling continues to sow transformation across Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
