Isha Foundation awarded Sadhguru Sri Brahma scholarships to 600 school and college students for higher studies on July 28th in a function held at Isha Vidhya School, Sandegoundenpalayam, Coimbatore. Mr. S.P Velusamy, MLA of Thondamuthur Block was present as the Chief Guest at the event. He distributed the scholarships and spoke about how education today plays an important role in shaping both the individual and society as a whole. He appreciated Isha Foundation’s efforts for its valuable contributions especially in bringing education to rural Tamil Nadu through Isha Vidhya. Mrs. Madhumathi Vijakumar, Union Chairman, Mr. Thennai Shiva, Panchayat President, Mrs. Singaravelan, Ward Member, and Mrs. Sudha Manian, Ward Member, were also present as Guests of Honor.

The scholarships are given every year to deserving students with excellent academic records from financially weak backgrounds to help with their further education. The scholarships are in the form of financial assistance and can be utilized by students for books, travel and living expenses and fees. Students from the Thondamuthur Block from kindergarten to college-goers are eligible for the award.
