Over 500 marathons are organized worldwide every year and many of these are charity events and a great opportunity to spread awareness about the causes we believe in. The Hyderabad Marathon on 26th August offers just such an occasion where supporters of Isha Vidhya will be able to run for their cause.

Isha Vidhya is part of Isha’s work in rural education in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, where eight schools started by Isha Foundation provide high-quality, computer-based education to rural children who cannot otherwise access or afford it. Isha Vidhya’s English-medium schools open the door for rural children to successfully pursue higher studies and gainful employment. The schools currently serve 4,050 students, 60% of whom are supported on full scholarships and the rest pay a subsidized fee.

Earlier this year, over 200 volunteers ran for Isha Vidhya in the Mumbai marathon and raised Rs. 6 million; and the Bangalore 10K Run saw 186 volunteers run and raise Rs. 1 million for the project.
