On World Environment Day 2026, Cauvery Calling kickstarted its plantation season across Tamil Nadu with 122 plantation drives, resulting in the plantation of 101,603 saplings across 317 acres of farmland.

On World Environment Day, June 5, 2026, Cauvery Calling launched its plantation season across Tamil Nadu, taking a significant step towards this year’s goal of facilitating the plantation of 1.2 crore saplings through tree-based agriculture.
To mark the occasion, plantation drives were organized at 122 locations across the state. Farmers, volunteers, community leaders, and prominent personalities came together to inaugurate the season by planting the first saplings in their respective districts.
The collective effort resulted in the plantation of 101,603 saplings across 317 acres of farmland in a single day, setting the momentum for the months ahead. The events reflected the growing participation of farming communities and local stakeholders in adopting tree-based agriculture as a pathway to improved farmer prosperity and ecological restoration. As the plantation season progresses, Cauvery Calling will continue supporting farmers across the Cauvery basin in integrating trees into their farmlands, contributing to healthier soil, improved water retention, and resilient rural livelihoods.
