When Tamil Nadu Agricultural University conducted a study across nurseries in four southern Indian states, they uncovered something unique about Cauvery Calling’s saplings that ensured long-term tree growth and was in stark contrast to the generally observed widespread mortality of saplings.

Tiruchirappalli, June 14, 2026 — More than 6,000 farmers and citizens came together at SRM University, Tiruchirappalli, for a landmark conference and exhibition on tree-based farming, organized by Sadhguru's Save Soil – Cauvery Calling movement. Titled the "Food Forest Cultivation and South Indian Fruits Festival," the event brought scientists, progressive farmers, and citizens onto one platform to explore how food forests and tree-based agriculture can transform both farmer incomes and public health.

On World Environment Day 2026, Cauvery Calling kickstarted its plantation season across Tamil Nadu with 122 plantation drives, resulting in the plantation of 101,603 saplings across 317 acres of farmland.

Over 40 leading media houses joined Save Soil – Cauvery Calling in New Delhi as the project shared its impact and the humongous scale. The press conference highlighted how restoring soil health through tree-based agriculture can improve farmer livelihoods.
