In Chellappa Goundan Puthur the volunteers were greeted by an exuberant group of children who sought their help in adding a new dimension to playtime. Soon, the kids were chatting happily and sharing food in an impromptu picnic.

Little Angels
A heart-melting incident took place in Chellappa Goundan Puthur recently. When Isha volunteers reached this locality a group of 8 young kids ran up to them and said that they too want food packets. Well conversant with these little enthusiasts’ whims, the volunteers ensured that their exuberance did not dim.
It soon turned into an impromptu picnic for the kids as they ate their food together, chatting happily amongst themselves.
The children are always the first to greet the volunteers with happy shouts of welcome when they reach Chellappa Goundan Puthur daily. Maheshwaran anna, a volunteer, said: “We were moved by their innocent appeal. They often accompany us wherever we go.”
Children are among the staunchest supporters of Isha volunteers in all villages. A volunteer said: “We share a very tender bond of camaraderie with these little ones who are always with us whenever we are in the villages. Their presence energizes us and enthuses us daily.”
Return Gift
Enthusiastic and energetic greetings accorded by children is an experience that all Isha volunteers look forward in most villages. Children of Samanapudur village after an equally vocal greeting took food packets from the volunteers and then headed homewards.
After making a brief stop to interact with the children, the volunteers began their daily routine of going from door to door to reach food packets to those community members who were unable to collect food till then. When they reached an aged woman’s home they were in for a surprise. The woman asked the volunteers to take her food packet and give it to somebody else in the village.
Jayakumar anna, one of the volunteers explained: “She told us that her grandson was among the children who had taken food packets from us earlier. The boy had dutifully given a packet to his grandmother before rejoining his friends.”
