Deepa's Story
My name is Deepa, 27 years old. My native place is near Salem. I shifted to Coimbatore for work. I was feeling very tired often for a long time. I could not do my normal activity itself. My husband scolded me continuously because of my inability to do my day to day work. I consulted many doctors and they said that my blood level is low. They insisted me to take a blood test. I did not have time and necessary support to go to a hospital far away from my home. The amount required for the test also bothered me. So I continued living with my problems. Recently, I came to know that the Isha Rural Health Clinic, Muttathuvayal was doing blood tests at a low cost. So, I went there and the doctor insisted I take a blood test, which I did. The results came and I had a Hb level of 5.9 g/dL. The doctor told, “How you are even walking with this level of Hb? Because the normal Hb level for women is 12 to 15 g/dL.” She gave iron and multivitamin syrup and also nutritional supplements. She explained to me about nutritious food. I am recovering now and I feel much brisker than before. This is all thanks to the Isha Rural Health Clinic with its lab facility at low cost and also the doctors' caring towards the patient.
