Cauvery Calling Empowers 600+ Farmers Through Monthly Consultations
Cauvery Calling continues to strengthen its farmer community with regular monthly consultation meetings designed to equip tree-based agriculture practitioners with practical, hands-on knowledge.

On August 24, over 600 farmers came together across districts including Cuddalore, Thoothukudi, Kanchipuram, Salem, Tirunelveli, Thiruvarur, Villupuram, Trichy, Mayiladuthurai, Vellore, Sivagangai, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, and Virudhunagar to learn new techniques that can boost productivity and sustainability on their farms.
During these sessions, farmers explored a wide range of topics—from choosing the right tree species for their soil and best practices in tillage and planting, to sapling care and water management techniques for both dry and rainy seasons. Guidance was also provided on managing seasonal pests and diseases through natural methods, ensuring healthier and more resilient tree growth.
The initiative builds on last month’s consultations in Madurai, Ariyalur, Tiruvannamalai, Namakkal, Tenkasi, Thanjavur, Chengalpattu, Dharmapuri, Dindigul, and Erode. Encouraged by the positive experiences of fellow farmers, many newcomers joined this month’s sessions. One farmer shared:
“By learning various technologies through these programs, we are becoming experts in tree farming. We request that such seminars continue to be held every month.”
To further support farmers, Cauvery Calling provides timber tree saplings at a subsidized rate of just ₹5 through the Isha nursery. With the arrival of the monsoon, a large stock of saplings has been prepared to meet demand. In addition, farmers receive free, on-site advisory support, with field visits from Cauvery Calling staff to help identify the most suitable tree species for their land.
For sapling requests and personalized guidance, farmers can reach out to the Cauvery Calling helpline at 80009 80009.
