In 2013, Sureshkumar began planting trees just to make use of idle land. With guidance from Cauvery Calling, he shifted from a teak-only plan to a diverse mix of species suited to his soil—mahogany, Indian kino, red sanders, rosewood, and Indian portia. Today, 1,541 trees thrive on his once-barren land, and with 200 more added last year, his green investment could yield over ₹3 crore in the next decade, averaging ₹20,000 per tree.
