Hands to Care, Hearts to Pray: #BeatTheVirus Isha Diaries – Part 13
Madampatti villagers stood together in a namaskaram posture to express their gratitude towards Isha volunteers who bring them food and assistance daily. In Devarayapuram too, residents expressed their appreciation by offering buttermilk and water to volunteers.

Namaskaram
The bond of bonhomie and respect shared by the community and volunteers is metamorphosing into something divine. While the volunteers are serving the people with a sense of worship, the villagers are reciprocating with moving gestures.
Recently, in the Madampatti village our volunteers saw a moving reciprocation of the community. When it was time to leave after finishing their day’s work, the volunteers noticed that the local residents were expressing their gratitude with folded hands.
Mahesh anna, an Isha volunteer, narrated the instance: “After we had finished distributing food and all other work in Madampatti, the villagers stood in a namaskaram posture till we went out of their sight. This unique experience gave us an immense sense of fulfillment and gratitude.”
“When giving food to the villagers we do it like we are serving our Sadhguru. We also adhere to strict a timeline while serving food because people wait for us,” said Mahesh anna.

Take a Bow
On reaching Devarayapuram village our volunteers encountered another rather heartwarming experience. Not only did the villagers rush to help them in their daily chores, they offered the volunteers buttermilk and water.
The concern felt by the villagers for the Isha volunteers is being reflected in a variety of ways. Every day when volunteers enter villages to give food and assistance, they encounter moving experiences as villagers go out of their way to make them feel cared for.
At Devarayapuram the villagers insisted that the volunteers accept some refreshments so that they will feel rejuvenated after toiling for hours under the blazing sun. A villager said: “We are very grateful that we get cooked food every day. We want to thank you for helping us.”
Sanitary workers of Thennamanallur panchayat too expressed their gratitude towards the volunteers’ tireless efforts. Recently, when the volunteers reached the panchayat and started distributing Nilavembu Kashayam like usual, the sanitary workers thanked them for helping the community and essential service providers.
